Policy

Working with the UK government, the UK India Business Council ensures business interests are represented to India’s state and central legislators.

India’s bureaucracy is complex. The country has one Union Government and many state, city, and rural administrations. We understand how to navigate this complexity and how to overcome the challenges to access the opportunities that different regions present. We work across India and the UK to promote the interests of UK businesses with ministries and officials by partnering with a wide range of government and non-government organisations. These include UK and Indian trade associations, think tanks, and other influential bodies.

The UK India Business Council curates an influential, knowledgeable and deeply insightful network, which meets in a mix of large and small events and in our Sector Policy Groups. Our members, Board and Advisory Council are at the heart of this network, which in turn is central to our support to businesses.  We coordinate activities with a wide range of government and non-government organisations. This includes trade bodies and local chambers of commerce across the UK and India to support businesses with the insights and connections needed to succeed.

We produce reports and white papers, and facilitate interactions between businesses, politicians and policy makers to generate a shared understanding of the issues.
