Urban Development Gateway Programme – Trade Delegation

The Urban Development Gateway Programme carried out its Trade Delegation from 9 – 13 April, 2018 to coincide with the Happy Cities Summit.

During this trade delegation three states were covered: Telangana (Hyderabad), Andhra Pradesh (Vijaywada and Amaravati), and New Delhi. Meetings for the member companies were arranged with state authorities officials such as Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), Urban Planning Bodies, education institutions, Ministers from State Government, and private companies. Delegation members presented their innovative solutions to respective bodies. As a result, members of our delegation SEaB Energy were able to sign an MOU with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, and Water Fuel Engineering is in talks with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) to sign a contract for a pilot project. In addition, the delegation also got a chance to meet and sit with Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, where he asked insightful questions and showed great interest in the delegates’ products. He expressed a strong desire to work closely with companies with innovative products.

Next Steps

The Gateway team is planning a series of ‘roadshows’ wherein we will cover 6-7 cities in India. Through these interactions we will meet Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), contractors, and other intermediaries to understand the needs and opportunities which we can connect to our member companies. The Gateway team will simultaneously be holding roadshows in the UK and will reach out to companies in the focus sectors.
