Market Visit to Delhi and Chandigarh with UKTI & Nottingham City Council 7-11 December 2015

|

Nottingham City Council is partnering with UK Trade & Investment and UK India Business Council to lead a prestigious delegation of businesses to Delhi and Chandigarh in December 2015. Drawing upon Nottingham’s strong government and business connections in Delhi and the Punjab, along with UKTI and UKIBC’s networks in India, we intend to create the conditions for businesses to develop their business interests in India.

Our key objectives

For your business to take advantage of the connections and influence we have in India to promote your products/services to help you export to this growing market.

Why join the delegation?

India is culturally close to the UK and is a very important market for the UK, and its fast growing economy presents many opportunities for UK businesses. Join Nottingham City Council and UKIBC and use the platforms they have in place in India to promote and develop your business. Your trip will include a structured itinerary with access to government, businesses, sector representatives and potential partners who are looking to engage with UK companies.

Delhi

Capital City Delhi is the centre of international politics, trade, culture and literature in India. With an economic growth rate of 9.3 per cent in 2013-14, Delhi is one of the fastest growing states of the country. The Government of Delhi has been committed towards creating a progressive business environment. The new Industrial Policy 2010-21 aims to provide a conducive environment for knowledge-based and hi-tech IT/ITeS industries and have created two special economic zones (SEZs). Key sectors include banking, financial services, ICT and construction. Delhi will host the CII Global SME Summit which forms part of the itinerary.

Chandigarh

Capital City and economic hub of two north India states, Punjab and Haryana. It is ranked the 5th top location in India and has the highest per capita income at thrice the national
average. ICT, Creative Media, Food & Drink and Life Sciences have been identified as key sectors offering opportunities for UK SMEs. Chandigarh is also expected to be one of India’s first “Smart Cities” and therefore presents opportunities for infrastructure and cleantech companies. Nottingham City Council has strategic links with Chandigarh Administration, the British Deputy High Commission, and the Confederation of Indian Industry which will provide you access to a range of networks and opportunities during the market visit.
