DIT Diabetes and Oncology Trade Mission to India

Calling the best British digital healthcare innovators to take part in the Department for International Trade’s Diabetes and Oncology events in India this year.

India’s healthcare market is estimated to grow to $280bn (US) by 2020. There is a growing demand placed by long term conditions such as cancer, obesity, diabetes and heart disease. India is the diabetes capital of the world with 60 million people suffering from type-2 diabetes. The number of diabetics in the country is estimated to grow by 58% to 87 million in 2030. It is also estimated there will be 1.73 million new cancer cases in India by 2020.

Mission outline

Part 1: 3-6 November 2017 Bhubaneshwar: RSSDI 2017: The 45th Annual Meeting of the Research society for the study of Diabetes in India

The biggest annual event in diabetes in India with a footfall of about 6000 delegates including diabetologists, endocrinologists, thought-leaders and prominent business figures from all over India.

The mission then moves to Chennai for a one-day programme of panel discussions, elevator pitch and networking lunch to senior management of hospitals and medical institutes in Chennai.

Part 2: 9-13 November Bengaluru: ICC 2017: The 2nd Indian Cancer Congress

Four major national oncology associations are coming together, with an expected footfall of 4000 delegates. Oncologists in the field of surgery and radiation, CEOs and COOs of corporate and private hospitals and prominent business figures from all over India.

The mission will then move to Mumbai for a one-day programme of panel discussions, elevator pitch and networking lunch to senior management of hospitals and medical institutes in Mumbai.
