By UK India Business Council (UKIBC)

Richard Heald OBE, former CEO of UKIBC has today assumed his position as Group Chair, following on from the appointment of new Group CEO, Jayant Krishna, at the beginning of August.

Richard succeeds Lord Davies of Abersoch, CBE who takes up a new position of President of the new UKIBC Senior Leadership Council.

Upon stepping up to Chair, Richard Heald, OBE said:

“It has been a privilege to lead UKIBC over the past 10 years and feel honoured to be following on from Lord Davies. I am committed to the UK-India bilateral relationship. While these are challenging times, UK India trade and economic relations are more vital and relevant that ever. I am committed to strengthening further the UK-India bilateral relationship.

I look forward to working with my successor, Jayant Krishna. We share an ambition for the UKIBC to provide the best support to all companies within the UK India Corridor. It is exciting that Jayant is already bringing a new dimension to UKIBCs operations.

These changes are major steps in making the UKIBC not only a leader in its field but also more bilateral in nature. They are a sign of the growing maturity of UKIBC and this can only enhance UKIBC’s advocacy, consultancy and support services to businesses in the UK and in India.

Group CEO, Jayant Krishna, said:

“This is a real time of opportunity within the UK India economic corridor for both UK and Indian businesses. With the support of Richard as Chair and Lord Davies of Abersoch, CBE heading the Senior Leadership Council, I believe that UKIBC provide even greater support to all our stakeholders, members and clients. I look forward to working with Richard and Lord Davies to achieving these objectives.”

President, Lord Davies of Abersoch, CBE said:

“I am delighted to have served as Chair for the past 3 years and am looking forward to maintaining my involvement with the UKIBC. I have no doubt that with Jayant as CEO and Richard as Chair the UKIBC will increase in relevance and impact over the coming years.”
