SURVEY: UK-India Free Trade Agreement
The UK India Business Council and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) launches research project to explore the possibility of a Free Trade Agreement between the UK and India
India and the UK remain major economic partners in each other’s economies. Bilateral trade and investment continues to be at the core of the wider UK-India relationship.
Following the UK’s decision to exit the EU, discussions around the possibility of a separate bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the UK and India have started to appear in the press.
The UK India Business Council and CII are keen to seek the views of Indian and UK businesses on whether, and how, such trade relations and FTA could take shape.
In this way, the CII and UK India Business Council believe that they can contribute towards ensuring that UK and Indian Government trade policy is aligned to the business views of both countries.
As an initial step, we are taking this opportunity to collect feedback from UK and Indian businesses to understand the demand for a UK-India FTA, the priority areas for business, and the opportunities and threats that businesses see from a FTA.
We would be grateful if you would take the time to fill in this short survey to let us know your views. This will help us convey the desires and sensitivities of UK and Indian business around the scope of an UK-India FTA to the respective governments.
Respondents will be entered into a prize draw with the chance of winning a donation to a charity of their choice. Meanwhile, all respondents will receive a copy of the research report that will be published in October.
The deadline for responses is Wednesday 31 August.
