The Indian e-commerce market
Growing at 51%, the Indian e-commerce market offers UK businesses an opportunity to create alternative revenue streams in a ‘digital-first’ strategy, or to complement their existing India business by exposing their brand to more than 90% of Indian post codes and drive sales across multiple channels.
The last quarter of 2020 saw the e-commerce order volume in India grow by 36% with the Personal care, Beauty and Wellness (PCB&W) segment being the biggest beneficiary. PCB&W, FMCG and Healthcare (F&H) categories’ volumes grew by 95% and 46% year-on-year respectively.
The Indian e-commerce market is valued at USD 120 billion. Propelled by rising smartphone penetration (760m by2021), the launch of 4G network, and increasing consumer wealth, the market is expected to grow to USD 200billion by 2026.

KIRAN KUMAR KOLISETTY – CO-FOUNDER AND CTO, SCALE GLOBAL
Experienced Founder, with a demonstrated history of working in the Management Consulting, Technology, E-Commerce and Consumer Goods.
While pursuing his bachelor’s degree at Indian Institute of technology, he founded a direct to consumer, alternative lifestyle brand. In two years, the brand was able to expand from India into international markets.
He exited from the venture, to pursue his interests in building a technology driven company that can create a global impact for businesses. He then founded Scale Global, to solve the bottlenecks faced by brands in going global, which, within a year, evolved from operating out of a basement in Hyderabad, India to having presence in about 10+ countries and empowering over 250+ brands. He is passionate about building technology ventures that can empower businesses with resources to leverage their full potential.
Currently been engaged with Scale Global as Co-Founder & CTO for Scale Global, helping global brands and leading manufacturers in expanding their global footprint through strategic e-commerce solutions across Asia, Middle East and Africa.
IMTIAZ IBRAHIM – CEO AND CO-FOUNDER, SCALE GLOBAL
High performing Executive with 18 years of Leadership experience, demonstrated proficiency in developing and implementing strategy, staffing, training, budgeting and business development plans for leading global brands. Strategic planner skilled at both short-term and long-term goal setting. Subhayu Ray – Associate Director, UK India Business Council
Subhayu joined UK India Business Council in June 2017. He is responsible for developing opportunities for British businesses in India across multiple sectors.
Ray has over 20 years of business consultancy experience, working across a wide spectrum of sectors such as FMCG, Food & Beverages, Retail, and Technology, and distribution channels in India, UK and Africa.
