UKIBC Conference: Technology Collaboration
The UK-India technology partnership provides a vision to tackle global challenges; realising the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and emerging technologies, the benefits of interactive data systems, and the changing use of technology with a particular focus on areas such as digital economy and society; R&D and innovation, clean growth, smart urbanisation and future mobility.
With the increasing role of technology underpinning economic development and competitiveness across geographies, both sides are looking to tap into wider collaboration in more emerging technology areas whether it is A.I., green technologies, semiconductors, future mobility, among others. We see this manifest across recent initiatives such as the UK-India Technology Security Initiative, commitments to invest in India’s pivot on accelerated green technology pathways, setting up of Global Capability Centres (GCCs) by large UK companies, UK university and Indian industry partnerships on R&D and innovation and more.
Against this context, UKIBC is pleased to announce that our second flagship Conference on UK-India Technology Futures – to be held on 21 November in New Delhi. This marquee forum will convene curated conversations with policymakers, industry leaders and knowledge experts on India’s tremendous technology led transformation, the roadmap for ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ and the potential for UK-India technology partnership as a force for mutual prosperity and global good.
The first edition of our Technology Conference in 2023 featured leading experts such as Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to Government of India, Christina Scott CMG, British Deputy High Commissioner to India, Balamurugan D, Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and, Lord Udny-Lister, Senior Adviser to Group Chairman, HSBC and former Prime Minister’s Senior Strategic Adviser (2019-2021).
This year too, we will have a power-packed line-up of senior speakers from government and industry. Stay tuned for more updates.
The programme is aimed as a high-powered platform to highlight a robust UK-India technology agenda and for business, academia, innovators and the ecosystem to:
- Showcase their technology expertise and contribution
- Contribute to discussions on how to build deeper UK-India collaboration
- Make policy recommendations that can enhance collaboration and gain insights from the other business leaders, policy experts and innovators
