Shubhi Mishra

         

Shubhi leads the UK India Business Council’s Food & Drink Advocacy Group and Trade Promotion services based in Delhi.

With 12-plus years of experience in responsible positions and over 9 years with the United States of Department of Agricultural (USDA) at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi as Senior Agricultural Specialist, Shubhi brings a vast amount of international and bilateral experience.

At USDA, Shubhi worked on numerous marketing, advocacy, and advisory projects garnering an in-depth knowledge of agribusiness, micro and macro economics, food safety-regulatory measures, regulatory & policy issues, and food & agricultural price policy/agricultural trade policy. Her hallmarks include in-depth understanding of both Indian and related international trade policy issues and she has worked on regulatory aspects related to agriculture, food, and beverage sector (including market access issues, WTO, SPS, and TBT) subjects in close association with various ministries/agencies under Government of India and Indian trade bodies.

Dr. Amit Sharma

         

Dr. Amit Sharma is serving as Director (Imports) at Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

Dr. Sharma has also worked at Export Inspection Council, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India as Joint Director before joining FSSAI. He has completed M.V.Sc. and MBA and is a gold medalist. For past more than 14 years, he is involved in addressing food safety issues at national & international level, interacting with importing regulatory authorities and taking up SPS issues to facilitate trade. Dr. Sharma has a wide experience of standard setting at national & international level, food safety audit of meat, poultry, dairy, feed, fish & processed products establishments etc. for domestic and export. He is a certified lead auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and ISO 17020. He has several articles to his credit and has received national awards.

Dr. Amit Lohani

         

Amit Lohani is managing director and owner of Max Inc., which is a leading importer and exporter of high value processed food items in India. He is also the national convener, founder, and director for Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI), a not for profile apex chamber, which works towards establishing inroads for international food and beverage trade in India. Additionally, Amit is a member of the Government of India’s Food Safety and Standard Authorities’ committee member working on food regulatory ecosystem to facilitate investment and trade development in the country. Furthermore, Amit holds various other responsible positions representing international trade in India at numerous forums like board member for Indo Italian Chamber of Commerce, member of FMCG committee at ASSOCHAM, jury member for annual Coca-Cola golden spoons awards, jury member of OSPITALITA ITALIANA RISTORANTI ITALIANI NEL MONDO, jury member for Annapurna world food India annual awards, and chairperson of India Food Delegation.

He is an alumnus of U.S. Government’s premier professional exchange program International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). He is a recipient of the fellowship from Fresno State University in California on cold chain management and infrastructure development. Amit has also studied international trade and business from the University of Queensland, Australia and Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi, India.
