The UK India Business Council, The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the High Commission of India in London are together, arranging a day of India-focused activities as part of the International Business Festival's Manufacturing week in Liverpool.

At a growth rate of 7.5% Indian economy is among the fastest growing economies of the world and is making great strides in its efforts to improve its ‘ease of doing business’ rankings making India an even more attractive business partner to global economies than ever before. Delegates from 100 different countries attend the International Business Festival and the Festival provides a platform to attract new international investors, suppliers and partners.

Our morning session will look at “India – A Global Business Opportunity”. The seminar would be headlined by a Senior Government Official from the Government of India, and followed by a Panel of Indian and Global Business Leaders, who would provide testimony to the improving ease of doing business in India and their overall experiences in the market, including the success stories as well as challenges.

After lunch, we will be focusing on the considerable opportunities available to UK businesses as a result of the recently launched ‘Access India Programme’ (AIP). This is a flagship initiative of the High Commission of India in London and has been formed to encourage and assist UK SMEs to access the Indian market. This event provides a great opportunity to meet senior officials from the Indian government and network with businesses and various organisations active in the UK-India corridor.
