Announcement: Dedicated Food & Drink sector team at DIT

By UK India Business Council (UKIBC)

The UK India Business Council has been the Department for International Trade’s (DIT) valued business partner, handling the responsibility for the Food & Drink sector strategies and day to day activities since April 2018, in addition to wider supporting services since 2007.

In light of the growing importance and opportunity for the UK’s Food & Drink sector in global trade negotiations and in India, we would like to inform you that the UK Government’s Department for International Trade now has a dedicated Agriculture and Food & Drink sector team, with staff based in the British High Commission New Delhi and British Deputy High Commissions in Mumbai, Chandigarh, and Kolkata. DIT India will therefore resume responsibility to promote the UK’s Food & Drink sector in India and create awareness about Indian Food & Drink sector opportunities. If you are a UK company interested in entering the Indian market, or, an Indian business interested in importing from the UK, please be in touch with Marylin.Kumar@fco.gov.uk from April 2022.

The UK India Business Council continues to have a close working relationship with DIT, UK Government, Government of India, and other stakeholders, and will continue to provide advisory services and represent the interests of its members in the Food & Drink sector, which remains a sector of critical importance to the UKIBC and its members. Please contact Shubhi.Mishra@ukibc.com if you are interested to enquire about how the UKIBC can help your business enter and expand in India.
