Graham Cartledge CBE joined Benoy in 1974 and became Chairman in 1992. Under his leadership, Benoy has experienced phenomenal growth and is now a truly international, award-winning firm of Architects, Masterplanners, Graphic and Interior Designers. Graham believes that to succeed globally, you have to think locally and Benoy now has a team of 500 people working out of nine offices, strategically located across the UK, Middle East, India and Asia to serve the company’s increasing, and evermore discerning, client base. The company is operational in 45 countries.
Architects of Bluewater in Kent, Elements Mall in Hong Kong and more recently Westfield London, Benoy has long been acknowledged as international Retail Design experts. The past ten years or so has seen its portfolio extend to embrace the growing sectors of Mixed-use, Urban regeneration, Restoration, Transportation, Hospitality and Leisure.
Graham sits on a number of international advisory boards and councils and as an ambassador for the creative industries, he has worked closely with The British Government and UKTI to promote British creativity and expertise around the world.
A firm believer in education, Graham works on a variety of high profile initiatives aimed at students of all ages to encourage study and learning. A regular speaker at universities around the world, inspiring the future is at the heart of the Benoy ethos both in design and spirit.
