APPOINTMENT: MR STEPHEN CRISP, DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS AND MEMBERSHIP SERVICES

By Trisha Nagpal

The UK India Business Council (UKIBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Crisp as the Director of Government Relations and Membership Services at the UKIBC.

Based in our London office, Stephen will lead UKIBC’s external engagement strategy and manage key political and stakeholder relationships across the UK–India corridor. In this role, he will oversee government relations, membership account management, policy advocacy and the delivery of UK-based events as well as providing support to the India-based team.

Stephen is a highly experienced international government relations leader with an extensive background in advising and advocating for British and European businesses across Asia. Over his distinguished career, he has built and led government affairs functions in global corporations, consultancies, and membership organisations. His senior roles at Jaguar Land Rover and BT further deepened his understanding of the commercial and political dynamics between India and the UK.

Stephen has also served as an adviser to a government minister and held various roles as a policy researcher and parliamentary specialist in both the House of Commons and House of Lords. He has lived and worked in North East Asia, South East Asia, Washington DC, Brussels, and London—bringing a truly global perspective to his work.

We are confident that Stephen’s strategic insight, global experience, and leadership will be a valuable asset to UKIBC and to all those we serve. Over the coming weeks, he will be connecting with stakeholders and members to introduce himself and understand your priorities.

I very much welcome Stephen to the UKIBC.

As we look at the future global growth areas, India sits at the centre.  As the UK India relationship becomes increasingly important, my role will be to ensure that it goes to the top of the political inbox and remains there.  I am joining UKIBC at a moment of optimism and am looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that will bring.  I am delighted to join UKIBC.
