
Neil Dawes Bhutani is an International corporate lawyer and public policy professional based in the New Delhi area, currently serving as Associate Director for Technology and Digital Economy.
He holds a degree in politics and law from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom and has been admitted to the bar of England and Wales as a barrister, being a member of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn in London. His expertise encompasses a wide range of legal services, both litigation and non-litigation, government relations and public policy development and its implementation across the APAC and EMEA regions, with a particular emphasis on the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors.
Neil’s extensive career includes working with various public and private sector organizations, namely Viacom 18 and the UK’s House of Commons, more recently, he served as Principal Associate for Policy and Legal Risk at Tag & Bench Associates. He has also engaged with leading Indian trade associations, including the Confederation of Indian Industries, focusing on corporate and technology laws and policies, particularly concerning cross-border trade issues that impact governments and major corporations worldwide. Furthermore, he has advised international credit rating agencies such as Moody’s and financial multinationals like American Express on a diverse array of government affairs matters.
His public policy endeavours in the House of Commons, along with his recent role as ‘South Asia Markets Lead’ for the Singapore-based Asia Internet Coalition—one of the largest big tech industry associations in the APAC region—have equipped him with profound insights into the market dynamics and the geopolitical factors that shape investor sentiment. He has played a significant role in several successful policy advocacy initiatives of the coalition.
