Doing Business in India 2016 Report (The UK Perspective)

A year on from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to London, and a matter of months since Theresa May chose India as her first non-EU bilateral visit, the country is making notable progress as a business environment.

The UK India Business Council believes that UK companies’ perspective on India’s business environment, and the progress made in the last 18 months, will be helpful in developing a stronger shared vision for India’s social and economic development, and help in charting a roadmap to transform India to a world-class manufacturing and export hub.

The survey collected opinions from 65 UK businesses, the majority of which believe that India’s ease of doing business is continuing to improve. It builds on the findings of our report in 2015, again identifying progress across a number of areas, where Modi’s Government is improving the business environment.
