Fortified milk classified under HS code 0401 as milk, exempted from GST

The Goods and Service Tax (GST) Council in their 28th meeting clarified that fortified milk (milk enriched with Vitamins and Minerals salt) earlier classified under HS 0401 as milk had 12% GST levied on it. However, it has now been exempted from GST on the requests of food business operators (FBOs).
