The Power of India – Emerging or Emerged? Opportunities & Collaboration in Satellite and Data

|

‘India triumphs in maiden Mars mission’ - The headlines highlight India’s victory in the Asian space race with the successful entry of its Mangalyaan Mars Orbiter into the red planet's orbit.

India has become a global power in knowledge-intensive services and manufacturing. It has high skills in computer-aided design and manufacturing, and is out there with the best in the world in new data sciences and data analysis, beating and even taking over its global rivals.

There is now a successful story to tell of UK India collaboration in space. We are delighted to invite you to attend an event on Opportunities and Collaboration in Satellite and Data where we will be connected with Professor KP Singh, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. Professor Singh will talk about the collaboration with Leicester University on the Soft X-ray Telescope on Indian Space Research Centre’s recently Astrosat launch.

Astrosat is a start-of-the-art space observatory but there are wider opportunities in India for the use of earth information from satellites such as for meteorology, agriculture, disaster relief, and water and air pollution control. This event will highlight India’s technical developments in satellite and the opportunities in this and in wider GIS data analysis.
