Shubhi mishra – UK India Business Council

Shubhi leads the UK India Business Council’s Food & Drink Advocacy Group and Trade Promotion services based in Delhi.

With 12-plus years of experience in responsible positions and over 9 years with the United States of Department of Agricultural (USDA) at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi as Senior Agricultural Specialist, Shubhi brings a vast amount of international and bilateral experience.

At USDA, Shubhi worked on numerous marketing, advocacy, and advisory projects garnering an in-depth knowledge of agribusiness, micro and macro economics, food safety-regulatory measures, regulatory & policy issues, and food & agricultural price policy/agricultural trade policy. Her hallmarks include in-depth understanding of both Indian and related international trade policy issues and she has worked on regulatory aspects related to agriculture, food, and beverage sector (including market access issues, WTO, SPS, and TBT) subjects in close association with various ministries/agencies under Government of India and Indian trade bodies.

David Horlock – BSI Group

David has a Bachelor of Business Degree in Agribusiness with 38 years’ work experience in the Agri-Food, Life Science, Commodities, Consumer Products and International Standards and Certification sector dealing with Organizational Resilience, Operational Resilience and Supply Chain Resilience. His positions include international management postings working as a CEO, Country Manager, Global Product Manager for internationally recognized Organizations gained from postings in HK/China, Philippines, Thailand, Australia and UAE.

David started his career as an Animal Health Specialist and Agronomist working across a broad range of agriculture sectors and was instrumental in developing major Agriculture Quality and Safety standards is Australia to protect the clean green image of Australian produce.

As an Organizational Resilience and Supply Chain Compliance professional, David is well versed with the needs of business, global brands and retailers wishing to protect their brands and implement the necessary best practice guidelines to ensure their businesses can stand the test of time. He is a dual UK/Australian citizen, born and raised in Thailand, lived and educated in Australia and currently based in HK/China for the last 14 years where he has had VP and Managing Director responsible for the Asia Pacific region covering 17 Countries. He is currently the BSI Managing Director for Global Food and Retail Supply Chain.

Richard Werran – BSI Group

Richard’s food career began as a food technologist and spans almost 40 years and has worked in all aspects of international food ingredient and food manufacturing sectors. Richard pioneered the import, processing and distribution of Non-GMO soy lecithin from Brazil designing and building a unique soy lecithin processing plant in the UK. Richard founded Cert ID Europe a UKAS accredited certification body, FoodChain Europe and Cert ID Asia; as BSI’s EMEA Regional Director for Food and Retail Supply Chain he drives BSI food initiative across the region. Richard is an acknowledged expert on genetic modification and is a Fellow of the IFST and the Society of Food Hygiene & Technology.

Namrata Khanna – India Honey Alliance

Namrata Khanna is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of varied experience. Currently she is the Director – India Honey Alliance, and is managing the formulation and working of the newly formed India Honey Alliance (IHA), a consortium of stakeholders across the value chain of the Indian honey industry, ranging from top brands, exporters, foundations, scientific experts and bee keepers. Within 5 months, she has built relationships with key government bodies like FSSAI, MoFPI, MoCA, Niti Ayog and others ensuring that IHA gains recognition as key stakeholder on all honey related matters, to create a robust ecosystem for the advancement of the honey industry.

IHA has created alignments and signed Letter of Intent with scientific bodies like AOAC-India, Entomology Society of India to form key opinions, and through multilevel partnerships and a network of communication channels. IHA has already set up the first webinar titled ‘Hive to Home’ with focused narratives and communication to re-inforce consumer confidence in Indian honey for beneficial outcomes for the Indian honey industry, in partnership with the scientists and domain experts.

Her earlier career spanned companies like British Airways, Arvato Bertelsmann, and Namrata has undertaken many consultancy projects for UNICEF & Sight And Life, on engagement and training program.

She recently led the much applauded program Eat Right School Program, under Food Safety & Standards Authority of India under MoHFW, where over 35000 schools enrolled in the program. She establish multi-level public – private partnerships to effect behaviour change towards food safety & nutrition across schools in India. She designed collaborative initiatives with government & private organization. Namrata represented FSSAI as an expert on National TV. A big contribution was to edit & compile ‘The Yellow Book’, along with managing various programs across platforms, through Stakeholder Management & Outreach; Others – Jury Member for CII-Face scholarship program for students interested in food technology & nutrition. A strong communicator, she is adept at managing stakeholders across multilevel projects, and aligning them for a common purpose.

She has a Masters’ degree in English Literature, along with certifications in Marketing & PR followed by a Masters in Business Management from Oxford Brookes University, UK. She is also an educator, having taught children with learning disabilities along with others.

Azhar tambuwala – sahyadri farms

Mr Tambuwala as a fellow founder at Sahyadri Farms, established in 2011 and a leading farmer producer company, has been involved in building an intergrated food facility, essentially for the benefit of the marginal growers in the regions of Nashik offering them opportunities to scale up their income revenues and social standards by focusing on their crop cultivation, whilst the company provides them with all agronomy inputs, soft loans, post-harvest distribution and marketing options, domestic and international.

The Producer Company (a cooperative owned by marginal growers), currently is the largest Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) in India, with the most modern packhouse facility. It is the largest exporter of grapes as well as the largest tomato grower and processor in India, working with several other produce in processed and fresh forms in the B2C and B2B space.
