Global Partnership Summit – Smart Cities : Smart India

The Government of India has announced development of 100 Smart Cities to provide a creative and stimulating environment for SMART CITY development as global role models in urban settlement. With this initiative, the country is all set to become the World Capital of Smart Cities and largest hub of modern city systems. This opens the floodgates to mega opportunities for global giants, in numerous fields. To start the process of realizing the goals of Smart Cities, ASSOCHAM has constituted 'Smart Cities India Forum' to facilitate implementation, partnership and promotion of various Smart City endeavors.

India is urbanizing at an unprecedented rate. Estimates suggest that 600 Mn of Indians will be living in cities by 2030. Smart cities have claimed a central position in the innovation agendas of Governments, research organizations, and technology vendors, posing unique opportunities and challenges in terms of development dimensions, scope and significance.

To carry forward the initiative of the Government of India, ASSOCHAM is organizing Global Partnership Summit: Smart Cities – Smart India at 09.30 a.m. on February 10, 2016, at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi. The Summit will serve as a platform for creating partnership in all aspects of a Smart City, such as people-oriented needs, technology, services and egovernance, to act as an incubator centre for Smart Cities, working as a consultative body for dialogues among various stakeholders and to promote Smart Cities as global business hubs, by ensuring all knowledge & policy support to strengthen their development. This will bring together a large number of stakeholders and investors from within and outside India on this platform to share and discuss latest trends as well as success cases, emerging technologies and collaboration opportunities in Smart Cities in India.
