Demystifying the New Graduate Immigration Route for UK Employers

|

The UK India Business Council (UKIBC), together with key stakeholders at UK Visas and Immigration (Home Office) and BUILA (British Universities International Liaison Association), are delighted to invite you to our upcoming webinar diving into what the re-introduction of the Graduate Immigration Route (GIR) means for UK employers.

The GIR is a major gamechanger for international students keen to study and work in the UK and for UK universities. However, this new policy change also opens up exciting opportunities for UK employers who are now able to recruit the best talent from around the world in a much more flexible way.

Sharing their expertise on the day will be Harry Booty, International Communications Lead at UKVI; Catriona McCarthy, BUILA Vice Chair and Director for Global Engagement at Ulster University; and Sharad Pandey, Head HR at State Bank of India, UK Ltd. In this interactive session, as well as answering your questions, our industry specialists will:

  • Promote and explain GIR rules and eligibility
  • Clarify the application process (new app based process and the old process)
  • Highlight the requirements for companies who are hiring a GIR visa holder
  • Explore, from an employer’s perspective, if any knowledge gaps exist
  • Address student employability and how higher education institutions can link up with employers

Given this is a new reform, and UK employers may not be fully aware of the details of the GIR, UKIBC are holding this session to demystify the policy for UK employers and highlight the various ways in which they can derive real benefits from this welcome reform. This webinar will be valuable to both universities and corporates and we would be delighted to have you join this session. Please do also feel free to share this invitation with colleagues in your company HR department.
