JCB was founded in 1945 by Joseph Cyril Bamford. His first product was an agricultural trailer and it wasn’t long before he moved into producing construction equipment. The distinctive yellow JCB backhoe loader is now regarded as one of the most versatile machines in the industry and is used in over 150 countries.

JCB’s Chairman, Sir Anthony Bamford has always had a passion for India. From his many visits to India in the 1970’s, he saw an opportunity for JCB to develop the market for construction equipment there when no such market really existed.
