Martin has practised as a corporate lawyer in the City for more than 25 years. He has acted for both quoted companies and growing private businesses and now heads our corporate governance unit, advising companies and their boards on governance, risk management and general compliance issues. In addition, Martin focuses on financial services regulation and anti-money laundering controls.
Martin is the editor and lead author of The Director's Handbook, the Institute of Directors' guide to a director's duties, responsibilities and liabilities (2nd edition, May 2007). He has also written numerous articles on governance related issues and lectures widely on the subject, including a series of seminars giving a practical guide to the Companies Act 2006 for main board directors, in-house legal and company secretarial departments.
