Deepak Lalwani is Director of India investments at London stockbroker, Astaire & Partners Limited. He was elected as a Member of the London Stock Exchange over 20 years ago. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Deepak was born in Bombay, India. He has authored since 1995 the widely distributed "India Report" which is a macro-economic summary of the unfolding India investment story. He comments regularly on India on UK and global TV and also in the international press. He has great passion for enhancing UK-India business relations and bi-lateral trade. He has specialised in India investments for over 15 years and covers equities, bonds, listing of companies on UK exchanges, M&A and Venture Capital. Deepak is a guest lecturer on India at MBA programmes at UK business schools. He gives investment lectures on India for The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) in the UK and chairs various India events for Government bodies.
In 2009 Deepak was honoured with the prestigious "Bharat Samman Pravasi Award". The award is given to select Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and People of Indian Origin (PIO) from across the globe in recognition of outstanding achievement in their chosen field and for public service contributions toward the economic development of India and their country of residence.
Deepak received an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2010 for services to the financialservices industry.
